Sourdough classes in Baton Rouge
Bread, Salt
and Friends
Put your hands in the dough and settle into the morning.
Time to learn. Time to talk. A little time for you.
From starter to the oven
Learn the feel
of good dough.
Each student mixes and folds their own dough, then takes it home to finish and bake. Doughs prepared the day before let us walk through every stage, from the first fold to a finished loaf.
There’s room for questions, conversation, and a quiet moment with the dough. Come as you are. No baking experience needed.

Before you come
A few good questions
What if my plans change?
Cancel seven or more days before class for a full refund. Inside seven days, your seat can move to another date or go to a friend. Proposed policy, to be confirmed by Jenny before paid bookings open.
Can you accommodate allergies?
Classes use wheat flour and take place in a shared home kitchen, so the kitchen cannot be represented as allergen-free. Please tell Jenny about any food allergy before booking.
Can children come?
Children 12 and up are welcome with a booked adult. Each person who mixes dough needs their own seat. Please ask before reserving a place for a younger child.
What should I bring and wear?
Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting flour on, and closed-toe shoes. Bring a tote with room for a bowl of dough. Everything else is on the counter. Parking notes and the address arrive with your booking confirmation.
Do I bake my loaf during class?
You take your own dough home to finish and bake the next morning. Jenny uses dough prepared the day before to walk through the later steps during class.
