Unhurried Kitchen

The person behind the kitchen

Hi, I’m Jenny.

A kitchen can be a place to slow down. To enjoy your company. To enjoy your own company, too.

For so many moms, the kitchen is a place of constant doing. Cooking for others. Serving others. Thinking about what comes next. I want Unhurried Kitchen to make room for a different pace.

Where the name began.

The name was inspired by John Mark Comer’s The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. For this kitchen, that inspiration is a simple invitation: slow down, be present, and enjoy the time you’re in.

It begins with sourdough classes in my home in Baton Rouge. A few people around the counter. Time to learn with your hands, share a conversation, and let the dough take its time.

Beauty belongs in the everyday.

Over time, I’ll bring home kitchen goods from my travels. Objects chosen for their beauty and the pleasure of using them. A lovely bowl. A piece of linen. Something you enjoy reaching for, even when the table is set just for you.
